The Centre for Writing and Scholarly Communication offers writing retreats, both online and on campus, throughout the academic year. Writing in community improves focus, builds momentum, and helps writers make meaningful progress on their work. Structured around the proven Pomodoro Technique, our retreats give you the dedicated, distraction-free time you need to get your writing done.
Write to Flourish, Write with Flourish: An On-Campus Writing Retreat
There’s nothing more productive than writing with community. If you’ve been putting off a writing project, or just need focused time to make real progress, this retreat is for you. Whatever you’re working on, we’ll help you move your project forward through structured writing sessions and built-in breaks to rest, reset, and connect with fellow researchers.
Open to current graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, come and spend a day writing with us on campus.
Write to Flourish, Write with Flourish: An Online Writing Retreat
By popular demand, we’ve launched a new online writing retreat, open to all members of the UBC community.
Whether you’re working on a dissertation, research article, proposal, course paper, or any other project, join us online for two hours every second Friday. Structured writing sessions will help you stay focused, build momentum, and make meaningful progress on your work from wherever you choose to write.
